Disclaimer: This Dream Might Be a Consumer Nightmare

Besides following the latest trend of ruining edits by playing snippets of the best tricks at the beginning, this edit was great. I’m keen to rewatch it later over a bong. But what does it mean for a company to be launched with the phrase: “Jan Welch Presents”. Jan was a big part of Vicious Bearings. Like Dream Urethane, it had great branding and an excellent team. Unfortunately, this worked. Many people like myself bought the bearings, but the bearings did not last. As a result, the company didn’t either. Credit where credit is due, though, the Jonny-Rotten-inspired shirt still lives. I wore it skating last week.

Clearly, the history of Vicious doesn’t mean that Dream Urethane will be of poor quality. They may even be made in the same factory as Dead Wheels. In a quest to find out, we visited the website. There was no information about where the wheels were made. Just like Vicious, “Dream Urethane” seems to be all about the branding. That’s why we sent our lead FB correspondent (who can’t spell) to ask Jan about it. Honestly, we thought he’d be stoked to let us know how good the wheels are. He wasn’t:

Jan, or the group mods, eventually deleted the comment. Apparently, asking this question is some kind of HATE CRIME!

The lack of transparency is alarming. Here at rollerbalding, we dread the impending nightmare scenario. Soon, blading’s YouTuber class will be fawning over Dream wheels. After skating them for an hour at a new, perfectly smooth skatepark, consumers will be told how “perfect” these wheels are. In 1984, this is all we can say. For in blading, there can simply BE NO NEGATIVITY! As a result, consumers will continue to suffer amidst a world wide economic shit storm.
